I was born and raised in Minnesota to parents who always encourage me to ask questions and instilled in me the belief that part of being a good citizen was not only staying informed about current politics, but also directing some of my numerous questions to politicians. After finishing high school, I continued my education at Northland College in Wisconsin.
Biology Degree in hand, I married my best friend from high school, Betsy. We shared first period English Freshman year, and we also share a birthday. When we married, Betsy was a captain in the Air Force and staying by her side meant leaving Minnesota. While supporting her as we were stationed at bases around the country, I earned a Masters degree in teaching from Wesley College in Delaware and our family grew with our two beautiful daughters Phoebe and Rosalind.
Our plan has always been to make our way back to Minnesota and raise our family here. As luck would have it, when our time at our last base was coming to a close, we were given the opportunity to join Grand Forks AFB, and we were thrilled. Returning home as Betsy finishes out her service with the Air Force and transitions back into private life is a dream come true. Not to mention the grandparents are over the moon to be a short drive from their granddaughters!
Minnesota has given me so much and I look forward to giving back in every way I can.
" It was once said that the moral test of government is how that government treats those who are in the dawn of life, the children; those who are in the twilight of life, the elderly; and those who are in the shadows of life, the sick, the needy and the handicapped. "
- Hubert H. Humphrey
We believe the best way to ensure lasting prosperity in Northwest Minnesota is to provide an environment that encourages families to move here and put down roots. Additionally, it encourages families who already live here and students who come here for an education to stay in the area.
To get those results we need effective legislators who fight for our corner of the state both now and in the future.
